Under the direction of Professor Dr. Şebnem Önal Hoşkara and Assistant Professor Dr. Nevter Zafer Cömert, four Master‐level students worked in teams throughout the semester to analyze the Central Business District (CBD) of Nicosia/LeŅoșa, North Cyprus, and transform the existing auto bus terminal area with urban design strategies. As part of the design process, the team conducted site analysis (physical/natural, socio‐cultural, economic); SWOT analysis, and legibility analysis via Lynch’s five elements. The goal of this analysis was to identify any qualities and characteristics of the district that should be preserved and/or emphasized and any negative components that should be altered. T Once the team had submitted alternative programming solutions for the portion of the city described above, they engaged in site‐level planning, including alternative design proposals for the auto bus terminal area. For each proposal, the team included and identified design elements that fulfilled Project for Public Spaces’ Power of 10+ concept.
